33. Flight of the Piwakawaka

flamedaisy, Nelson Whakatū

Flight of the Piwakawaka is about home and the nuclear family – from sunrise, through the day's journey, to our welcome return at sunset.

Anthony Genet is a Nelson-based glass and neon artist with over 35 years of creative practice. He began experimenting with neon as a teenager with a desire to pursue innovation through his creative process.

Check out Anthony's work at flamedaisy.

Anthony makes his glass from raw materials, then shapes it into the form he wants, before processing it into tubing to form the bold neon colours. Anthony’s glass and neon is held in collections locally and internationally.

For Te Ramaroa, Anthony is keeping his flamedaisy studio (in Selwyn Place) open late for some glassblowing demonstrations. Click here for info.
