4. Unreliable Artefacts

Lee Woodman, Nelson Whakatū

Lee Woodman is an artist based in Whakatū Nelson working in sculpture, sound, and kenetics. Lee gained a Bachelor of Design Innovation and Philosophy from Victoria University in 2013.

Unreliable Artefacts seeks to invent fictional narratives within central cityscapes to enhance and draw attention to otherwise unremarkable alleys and places. While using seductive fonts as eye candy within a commercially recognisable vernacular, the recognisable lyrics are poetic and reassuring, allowing us to appreciate them without being sold to a brand.
